A buggy must be an EEC homologated vehicle with factory-fitted safety equipment, including:
- Complete lighting: headlights, indicators, brake lights and a rear number plate light.
- Seatbelts: three-point belts.
- Mirrors: driver and passenger side.
- Windscreen: a glass windscreen with wiper.
- Braking: approved brakes and a reliable handbrake.
Without these, a vehicle can't pass Spanish registration and stays restricted to private land.
